Funding Priorities
Education and Training
The Newsboys Foundation supports initiatives that better respond to the diverse education needs of disadvantaged Victorian young people. Priority is given to initiatives that support disengaged young people to attend school and participate in effective community based education and training programs.
Creative Arts
The Newsboys Foundation funds arts initiatives for disadvantaged young people that support them to become involved in positive community activities and in doing so, re-engage with learning.
Personal Development Programs
The Melbourne Newsboys Club provided some of Melbourne's first personal development programs for newsboys including camping holidays to Millgrove. Since 1974, the Newsboys Foundation has continued this theme with a long history of funding personal development programs including sport and recreational activities and therapeutic wilderness camps. Such programs provide positive circuit breakers for young people to step out of negative surrounds into positive, supporting, challenging and natural environments.
