David is a lawyer with more than 40 years’ experience. He specialises in taxation law. While growing up, he was a newspaper delivery boy, delivering the morning papers to South Yarra and Toorak. David joined Newsboys to help the Foundation assist young people to further their education, stabilise their lives and provide opportunities to develop their careers. David is a partner at Gadens Lawyers; a member of the Tax and Revenue Committee at the Law Institute of Victoria; a member of the Taxation Institute of Australia; a director at Wintringham Ltd; a company secretary and public officer at the Asia Pacific Business Coalition on HIV/AIDS (Australia) Ltd; a director at the Wynn Group of Companies: Whitton Holdings Pty Ltd (Manor Investments Pty Ltd; Whitton Pty Ltd; Viton Pty Ltd); a director at Octanex NL (Group of Companies); a director and secretary at Loch Management Pty Ltd; and a director and secretary, Acqualib Pty Ltd. David’s qualifications include: LLB (Bachelor of Laws), M Tax (Masters of Taxation) and CTA (Chartered Tax Adviser). Keith Gillett Director Keith Gillett has been a director of the Newsboys Foundation since September 1995. Keith has 29 years’ experience in financial planning and is a member of the Financial Planning Association. He is a former director of Newgrange Financial Services Pty Ltd and was on the board of Try Youth and Community Services for more than two decades. Ann Robinson Director Ann Robinson joined the board of the Newsboys Foundation in October 2014. Ann is a highly qualified social worker with 30 years’ experience caring for children across Melbourne. She is dedicated to making a difference to the lives of vulnerable young people. Ann is committed to constantly developing her knowledge and skills so that she can successfully contribute to helping young people overcome barriers and flourish. Ann holds several qualifications including a Bachelor of Arts (Italian and Psychology) and a Bachelor of Social Work, both from the University of Melbourne. She also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Developmental Psychology from the Mindful Centre, Monash University. Ann has worked with many groups on the margins of our community – children in out-of-home care, families who have had children removed from their care or are at high risk of having children removed. Ann is driven by a determination to improve the wellbeing of clients, particularly the most vulnerable, neglected and disadvantaged young people in her care. Ann is a Planner with the National Disability Insurance Scheme. Previously, Ann worked with the Department of Education and Early Childhood Intervention as a Senior Intake and Early Support Worker in Early Childhood Intervention Services. Prior to that, she was an Intake and FACES Worker at the Central Intake, Early Childhood Intervention Specialist Children’s Services for the Southern Metropolitan region. Ann has also worked at the Tweddle Child and Family Health Service; with Anglicare as a Case Manager in Foster Care; and with the Northern Metropolitan College of TAFE as a Fieldwork Co-ordinator and Welfare Practice Teacher in the Aboriginal Services Unit. Ann is a former treasurer for the Hurlingham Kindergarten Committee, East Brighton. John Warner Director John Warner has been on the board of the Newsboys Foundation since November 1980. He has been a member of the Newsboys Foundation audit committee since May 2009 and has been chair of the Newsboys Foundation’s Investment Committee since its inception in 2009. John holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Melbourne University and has more than 50 years’ experience in stockbroking, including a stint working in London. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants. John joined the stockbroking firm Eric J Morgan & Co as an analyst in 1961 and was accepted as a Partner just three years later. He was elected to the Committee of the Stock Exchange of Melbourne in 1975, and subsequently was one of six Melbourne representatives on the first Melbourne/Sydney Committee. He served from 1975 to his retirement in 1985. He was a member and Chairman of the Listing Sub- Committee and later rotating Chairman of the Joint Listing Sub-Committee. John has made an enormous contribution to building the Newsboys Foundation’s share portfolio. It has been through John’s investment advice that the Foundation has been able to continue to grow its funding and distribute grants to community organisations. NEWSBOYS FOUNDATION BOARD OF DIRECTORS
